Most of us have had our lives upended this year.
We’ve been hit financially and emotionally, and a lot of the outlets we had for stress (like the gym) are still closed or hard to access. So on top of everything else, we’re gaining weight.
It’s harder than ever to eat smart and work off extra pounds. Even just keeping in basic shape can be tough.
Weight gain can be a spiral - anyone who’s ever struggled with weight loss knows that. It’s so easy to gain weight and then feel guilty or ashamed about it, which makes it even harder to get motivated to work out. And so we turn to emotional eating to comfort ourselves in the meantime. Or we tell ourselves it’s self care to just sit in front of the TV all night and order delivery (don’t get us wrong, that’s okay every once in a while).
